Clinicopathological Factors Predicting Non-sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis of Breast Cancer in Iran

چکیده
Axillary lymph node (ALN) status is an important factor in the staging, prognosis and selection of an appropriate treatment modality in early breast cancer. Axillary dissection is currently the standard of care in patients with a positive sentinel lymph node (SLN) (Mcmasters et al., 2000; Cady, 2001). Recently, the survival benefit of completion axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) for all patients with a positive SLN has been questioned (Giuliano et al., 2011). Some studies have indicated that non-sentinel lymph node (NSLN) metastasis was observed in only 35% to 50% of breast cancer patients with a positive SLN (Chu et al., 1999; Turner et al., 2000). Therefore, 50% to 65% of patients with a positive SLN suffer from the morbidity of unnecessary ALND, such as

Prediction Axillary Lymph Node Involvement Status on Breast Cancer Data
Introduction: one of the foremost usual methods for evaluating breast cancer is the removal of axillary lymph nodes (ALN) which include complications such as edema, limited hand movements, and lymph accumulation. Although studies have shown that the sentinel gland condition represents the axillary nodules context in the mammary gland, the efficacy, and safety of the guard node biopsy need to be...
متن کاملPotential role of hsa_circ_0003098 circular RNA in breast cancer and its association with demographic factors and lymph node metastasis
Background and Objectives: A growing amount of evidence has revealed that circular RNAs (circRNAs), covalently closed single-stranded non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), play significant roles in initiation and progression of breast cancer (BC) through different mechanisms. This study aims to investigate the hsa_circ_0003098 expression and its potential roles in BC, as well as the circRNA/miRNA/mRNA cro...
متن کاملSentinel lymph node in cervical cancer
Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women. Effective screening programs can help cancer detection in early phases and reduce death. Metastasis to lymph nodes is one of the most prognostic factors in patients who underwent surgery. Also, a positive result from pathology report alert oncologist as a cause of death. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has been widely ...
متن کاملRole of pathologic prognostic factors in breast cancer patients with isolated bone metastasis and relationship between SUVmax and prognostic factors
Introduction: 18F-FDG PET/CT provides very effective results in detecting metastases of breast cancer. In our study, we investigated the relationship between maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) and prognostic pathologic factors in breast cancer cases with isolated bone metastasis and whether there was any difference in terms of prognostic pathologic factors betwee...
متن کاملClinicopatholgic Parameters Associated With Regional Lymph Node Metastasis In Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Retrospective Study
Background and Objective: Oral cancer accounts for less than 3% of all cancers. Despite recent improvement in diagnostic and treatment methods, the overall survival of the disease is unfavorable. Several studies have been performed to assess factors influencing lymph node metastasis and prognosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate some clinical and pathological factors influencing lymph ...
